Program Details:
It is almost nauseatingly cliché to describe my semester abroad as “the most incredible five months of my life” however to explain it lesser terms would not do the experience justice. To say I am a new or changed person feels like to grandiose a statement, though at least the latter is likely true. However, to attempt to explain the impact of this experience on my life, simple as the question seems, feels too complex to adequately put into words. In the most basic terms, I feel like I know much more about myself. I could probably write a saga of my experiences abroad, things I loved, things I tried, how unbelievably amazing it was, but honestly no one really wants to read that. They don’t want to hear about someone else’s stories; they want to know it was a great decision so that they feel confident to go out and live it themselves. As they should. Study abroad may not have changed me, but it has had a huge and lasting impact on my life. Even without the countless other incredible experiences, the sense of self-realization alone were worth the trip.
