Program Details:
Since coming home, I have noticed that I am no longer content to sit in my apartment on my computer anymore. I no longer want to head straight home after work, even if I’m tired enough to fall asleep during the commute. I’m trying new coffee shops, attending free events, reading in parks, exploring new areas, and overall trying to live like I’ve only got five more months in New York. Understanding what it’s like to have limited time in a place I could have happily spent years or possibly even decades makes me appreciate how lucky I am to be in a city I love for as long as I want. As a result, I feel like I will no longer take my location and availability of new experiences for granted. My appreciation and love for New York has been completely renewed even though I was initially reluctant at best to want to return home.
