I was on the fence about going abroad for a lot of reasons. Looking back, I'm so glad I ended up going. People told me I could always travel when I was older which, although true, can never make up for the experience of being in a formal, structured program with kids your age. It's the people that make the experience worthwhile, so although you can travel at any point in your life I would highly encourage you to go form a little family with your classmates. I later learned that many other close friends in my program were also considering not going, yet we all had amazing, memorable experiences. I had the best semester of college, so if you're on the fence about going abroad I would highly encourage you to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. Chances are many other kids in the program are in the same boat as you.
